Coldfoot, AK

Coldfoot is a remote census-designated place in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area of Alaska. Located along the Dalton Highway roughly halfway between Fairbanks and Prudhoe Bay, the tiny outpost of about 34 permanent residents functions primarily as a truck stop and supply station. The community's name is said to derive from travelers getting cold feet about continuing the journey north to Deadhorse, the oil industry hub at road's end.
