About Collinsville
Collinsville is an unincorporated Lauderdale County community and census-designated place on Mississippi Highway 19, about 13 miles northwest of Meridian. The highway sits on a low ridge between Suqualena Creek and Twitley Branch, with both streams flowing into the Okatibbee Creek and Pascagoula River watershed. Okatibbee Lake and the surrounding wildlife management area lie just east, giving Collinsville a water-and-woods setting beside the road. Lauderdale County schools operate West Lauderdale facilities in the community, and the route through town continues north toward Philadelphia. Collinsville has no separate city government, so the county, school district, highway, and reservoir carry most of the local structure. It is a small east-central Mississippi place whose map is easy to read: one ridge, two creeks, one highway, and Okatibbee Lake nearby.
