Columbia is a city and the county seat of Marion County, Mississippi, settled in 1813 along the Pearl River. Named by early settlers who migrated from Columbia, South Carolina, the community of approximately 6,632 is served by the Columbia School District, which operates Columbia High School, and lies within the Pearl River Community College area.
