About Colusa

Colusa is a city and the county seat of Colusa County, California, situated along the Sacramento River in the Sacramento Valley. Founded in 1850 by Robert Semple on land originally inhabited by the Coru people, the community of approximately 6,500 stands in one of the nation's leading rice-producing counties, with over 135,000 acres harvested in a single year. The downtown features a Carnegie Library built in 1905 and a classically styled courthouse, and public education is administered by the Colusa Unified School District.
