Comfort is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Kendall County, Texas, situated at the confluence of Cypress Creek and the Guadalupe River. Established in 1854 by German abolitionist emigrants surveyed by Ernst Hermann Altgelt, the historic Hill Country community of approximately 1,565 is served by the Comfort Independent School District locally.
