Commodore, PA

Commodore is a census-designated place in Green Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States. The 2010 census counted 331 residents. Commodore was founded in 1919 by the Clearfield Bituminous Coal Corporation, a subsidiary of the New York Central Railroad. Commodore was named in honor of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, founder of that railroad. The short version is that Commodore carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now.
