Conestee, SC

Conestee sits just south of Greenville along the Reedy River, blending historic mill village charm with an easy Upstate location. The community grew around the 19th-century Conestee Mill, and that heritage is still visible in the preserved worker cottages, the brick mill structures, and the distinctive octagonal McBee Methodist Church. The mill's original dam formed Lake Conestee, creating the scenic waterfront that still anchors the neighborhood.

Today, the area is best known for the Conestee Nature Preserve, a 400-acre wildlife sanctuary packed with hardwood forests, wetlands boardwalks, and direct connections to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Right next door, Conestee Park provides ball fields, a dog park, and open recreation space. Tucked between Greenville and Mauldin, Conestee offers newcomers a quiet, outdoor-oriented setting with a fast commute to downtown dining and everyday conveniences.
