About Coos Bay

Coos Bay is a southern Oregon coast city that forms a connected urban core with neighboring North Bend. The arrival of a post office in 1871 and the Coos Bay Wagon Road soon after helped connect Coos County to inland Oregon, and the bay itself shaped shipping, timber, fishing, and local industry. Downtown Coos Bay has had the Coos Art Museum since 1950, giving the city a cultural landmark. It feels like a working coastal hub rather than a purely tourist beach town.
