About Cordova
Cordova is a port city in the Chugach Census Area, Alaska, situated at the head of Orca Inlet on the eastern side of Prince William Sound. Positioned near the mouth of the Copper River, the community's economy revolves primarily around commercial fishing. Originally named Puerto Cordova in 1790 by Spanish explorer Salvador Fidalgo, the town hosts annual events including the Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival in early May and the Salmon Jam Music Festival.
