About Corning
Corning is a city in Tehama County, California, situated approximately nineteen miles south of Red Bluff in the upper Sacramento Valley. Named in 1882 for railroad official John Corning, the community of approximately 8,200 is known as the Olive Capital of California. The city hosts the annual Corning Olive Festival, established in 1946 and considered the longest-running olive festival in the United States, and is served by the Corning Union School District.
