Corrales, NM

Corrales is a village along the Rio Grande in the Albuquerque metro area, built on the site of much older Pueblo settlement. Its location along the river and acequia landscape gives it a different feel from the surrounding suburban grid. Corrales is served by Albuquerque Public Schools, but it has fought to preserve a rural village atmosphere, with horse properties, farms, galleries, wineries, and cottonwood-lined roads. It is close to Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, yet deliberately slower and more agricultural in character.
