Cortland is a city and the county seat of Cortland County, New York, situated in the state's Southern Tier region. Known as the Crown City, the community of approximately 17,500 is bordered by the Tioughnioga River and is home to the State University of New York at Cortland. The city features the historic 1890 House Museum and is served by the Cortland City School District.
