Coxsackie, NY

Set in Greene County along the western bank of the Hudson River, Coxsackie is a charming, historic village with a population of around 2,700. Its unique name traces back to an Algonquin word meaning "place of owls," but newcomers are usually drawn to its walkable, preserved waterfront. Historic Reed Street anchors the downtown with 19th-century brick buildings that now house local coffee shops, independent boutiques, and neighborhood restaurants right by the water.

Daily life revolves around the river, with Riverside Park hosting weekend farmers markets, outdoor concerts, and peaceful sunset strolls.
