About Crenshaw

Crenshaw is a town in Mississippi. The 2020 census counted 638 residents. Crenshaw was located on the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad. By the early 1900s, it had a post office, several stores, churches, schools and a combined oil mill/cotton gin. Crenshaw Elementary School in Crenshaw, North Panola Junior High School in Como, and North Panola High School in Sardis serve the community. That mix gives Crenshaw a clear local shape within Mississippi, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. Most of the town is in Panola County with a small portion on the west side in Quitman County.
