Crescent Bar, WA

Crescent Bar sits on the east side of the Columbia River in Grant County, two miles south of State Route 28 at Trinidad and within the Quincy school district. The community curves around a river bend, with part of its resort neighborhood on the Crescent Bar island and peninsula. Wanapum Dam changed the shoreline in 1963, raising the river and turning what had been open agricultural ground into a summer recreation community with marinas, beaches, campgrounds, a golf course, and vacation homes.

Summer is the main event here. Boats come through the launches, the campground fills, and the Greater Crescent Bar Association puts on fireworks, concerts, pickleball tournaments, and a boat parade. The recreation area has a broad beach, playgrounds, picnic spots, and river access, while Quincy handles the school connection and larger errands. The local scoop is the seasonal swing: a small year-round population, a much bigger warm-weather crowd, and a riverfront landscape that can feel like a vacation town even though it is still part of Grant County's agricultural Columbia Basin.
