About Crete

Crete is the most populous city in Saline County, Nebraska, situated southwest of Lincoln. Established in 1870 with the arrival of the railroad and named after Crete, Illinois, the community of approximately 7,527 is home to Doane University. Public education for local school students is served by the Crete Public Schools district.
