Crocker, MO

Crocker is a Pulaski County city of 929 residents in the 2020 census, set on a ridge north of the Gasconade River and east of Tavern Creek. The town was platted in 1869 and named for Uriel Crocker, a shareholder in the South Pacific Railroad. Missouri Routes 17 and 133 pass through the area, giving the ridge community a road connection across the county and toward the river valleys. The ridge, river, and school routes give the city its everyday local orientation.

Education and everyday services give Crocker its current shape. Crocker R-II operates an elementary school and Crocker High School, while the public library serves as a branch of the Pulaski County Library District. Community life gathers around school activities, library visits, and the routes that carry residents to neighboring towns. Those institutions sit inside a landscape of wooded slopes and watercourses. The city carries a railroad name, keeps families moving through town, and opens toward the wider Ozarks.
