Cross City, FL

Cross City serves as the quiet hub of Dixie County, sitting right along Highway 19 in Florida's peaceful Nature Coast region. True to its name, the town grew around an early crossroads and quickly became a bustling logging center in the early 1900s. You can still catch glimpses of that timber heritage today around town and at the historic Putnam Lodge in neighboring Shamrock, which holds onto plenty of classic Old Florida character.
