Crystal, MI

Crystal is a Montcalm County census-designated place wrapped around Crystal Lake, with the village proper sitting at the lake’s east end and the broader census boundary taking in the surrounding shoreline. The area’s first settlers were lumbermen John and Humphrey Smith, who arrived in 1853. Crystal Lake drains south through the township, while Mud Lake sits to the northeast.
