Cunningham, KS

Located in western Kingman County along U.S. 54, Cunningham is a quiet, tight-knit town of around 450 people. Life here moves at a relaxed pace, surrounded by wide-open prairie and big Kansas skies. Founded as a railroad stop in the late 1880s near the South Fork Ninnescah River, it has settled into a peaceful rural community where neighbors look out for one another and kids safely ride their bikes through neighborhood streets.

For newcomers, everyday life revolves around a supportive community and the local school system. The Cunningham-West Kingman County school district operates both the elementary and high school right in town, offering small class sizes and active community backing for school events and athletics. A few friendly local diners and shops take care of daily routines, and direct highway access makes it easy to drive into Kingman, Pratt, or Wichita for bigger errands.
