Daisy, GA

Daisy is a quiet, small-town community in Evans County that got its start as a railroad stop back in 1890. When the postal service rejected their original name choice, locals decided to name the town after Daisy Leola Edwards, the daughter of a founding resident. In its early days, the railway fueled a boom in cotton and timber, and you can still feel that rustic Georgia charm as you drive through today.

The center of town holds onto its heritage with preserved brick storefronts, a historic depot on River Street, and an old railroad caboose parked downtown. Down the road, the local Methodist congregation still gathers in the community's original schoolhouse. Sitting right along Highway 280, Daisy offers a peaceful, unhurried rural setting with easy access to everyday conveniences in nearby Claxton.
