Dalton, PA

Dalton is a Lackawanna County borough in the Abingtons, about three miles north of Clarks Summit. The 2020 census counted 1,283 residents. It began as Bailey Hollow, where Bailey families were early settlers and farming and lumbering supplied the local economy. The railroad changed the scale of the place: the Leggetts Gap branch of the Lackawanna Railroad reached the area in 1850, tying this small hollow to Scranton and the wider valley.
