About Danville

Danville is a city and the county seat of Vermilion County, Illinois, situated along the Vermilion River. Settled in the early nineteenth century near regional salt springs on lands historically inhabited by the Miami, Kickapoo, and Potawatomi, the city of approximately 28,595 contains the historic Fischer Theatre and a museum dedicated to former famous residents including Dick Van Dyke. Public education is administered by Danville Community Consolidated School District 118.
