About Dayton

Dayton is a Lyon County community on the Carson River, east of Carson City and near the western end of the Twenty-Six Mile Desert. It is one of Nevada's oldest settlements, with mining-era roots and a claim to the state's oldest hotel. The river bend, old wagon routes, and nearby Comstock history give Dayton more historical texture than its current size suggests. Today it feels like a growing Carson City-area community with a visible frontier backstory.
