About De Soto

De Soto is a city in Jefferson County, Missouri, situated along Joachim Creek within the St. Louis metropolitan area. Established in 1803 and named after Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, the community of approximately 6,470 is supported by a major Union Pacific Railroad facility and served by the De Soto Public School District Seventy-Three for public education.
