About Delano

Delano is a city in Wright County, Minnesota, situated along the South Fork of the Crow River at the western edge of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Named in 1868 for railroad official Francis Roach Delano, the community of approximately 6,900 hosts Minnesota's oldest and largest Fourth of July celebration, founded in 1857. Three buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places, and the city is served by Delano Public Schools.
