About Deltana
Deltana is a census-designated place in the Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, Alaska, situated near the confluence of the Tanana and Delta rivers. Historically inhabited by the Tanana Athabaskan people, the area developed in the early twentieth century. In 1904, the United States Army Signal Corps constructed the McCarty Telegraph station near a local roadhouse. Today the residential residential community serves as a scenic gateway to the Alaskan interior.
