Deposit sits in the western foothills of the Catskills along the West Branch of the Delaware River, right near the Pennsylvania border. The village got its name in the 1800s as a river depot where loggers stored pine timber before floating it down to Philadelphia each spring. Today, the clean waters of the Delaware make the area a favorite spot for world-class fly fishing, kayaking, and outdoor recreation. Downtown along Front Street has a classic upstate feel, anchored by local eateries, neighborhood shops, and the vintage marquee of the State Theatre.
