Dewar, OK

Dewar is a quiet small town in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, situated right next door to Henryetta and about 12 miles south of Okmulgee. It got its start in 1909 as a railroad depot named after rail official William Peter Dewar, quickly expanding as coal mining and oil work brought workers to the area. While the old industrial boom has long since quieted down, Dewar has grown into a peaceful residential community where neighbors know each other and life moves at an easy pace.
