Dewy Rose is a tiny rural community in northeast Georgia's Elbert County, home to fewer than two hundred people. Life here is quiet and unhurried, with spread-out homes, open pastures, and easy access to nearby spots like Elberton and Lake Russell. Local tradition says the community got its name around 1900, when the area's first postmaster was trying to name the new post office and his young daughter brought him a fresh rose covered in morning dew.
