Doniphan, MO

Doniphan is Ripley County's seat on the east bank of the Current River, about ten miles north of the Arkansas line. The river is the town's clearest geographic cue, while the county-seat role keeps the courthouse, library, and local history institutions in the same orbit. The Current River Heritage Museum shares space with the Ripley County Historical Society's library, and the Doniphan-Ripley County Public Library gives the town a second place for local records and reading.
