Dora, AL

Dora is a historic city in Walker County, Alabama, first settled in the early 1830s and historically developed as a coal mining hub. Today, the community of approximately twenty-six hundred residents hosts Dora High School, which also serves students from the neighboring town of Sumiton. Local recreation is centered around a public park located directly behind City Hall, which provides residents with nearby access to a fishing pond and the scenic Horse Creek Walking Trail.
