Druid Hills, KY

Druid Hills is a home-rule city in Jefferson County, incorporated in 1950 and counted at 299 residents in the 2020 census. It sits among Louisville-area cities north of Louisville's core, bordered by Indian Hills, Louisville, Bellewood, and Brownsboro Village, with Brownsboro Road forming its northern edge. Its size is small, but its government remained distinct after the Louisville–Jefferson County merger.

Most of local public life runs through that municipal layer. An elected mayor and four commissioners handle ordinances, permits, taxes, street lights, trees, and coordination with Louisville Metro and outside utilities. Rumpke collects weekly garbage and alternating recycling and yard waste, and the city contracts snow plowing when needed. Monthly commission meetings are held at Broadway Baptist Church on Brownsboro Road, and the city publishes sanitation schedules and ordinance updates. Those meetings are open to citizens. Druid Hills is a compact government and service boundary inside a larger metropolitan map, with residents using both city administration and regional agencies for ordinary public needs.
