Duncan, NE

Duncan is a quiet community of around 400 people located between the Platte and Loup rivers, just eight miles west of Columbus along Highway 30. It offers peaceful residential streets and plenty of open space, making it an easy commute for anyone working in Columbus who prefers a slower pace at home. The town took root in the late 1800s along the transcontinental railroad and the historic Lincoln Highway, and it continues to be a comfortable, tight-knit pocket of Platte County.

For a town its size, Duncan has a few fun claims to fame. It is the manufacturing home of Dorothy Lynch salad dressing, a sweet and tangy staple found on dinner tables across the Midwest. Residents look forward to local traditions throughout the year, including the annual summer Ribfest and community gatherings at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Surrounded by farmland and scenic river bottoms, Duncan gives newcomers simple country living with everyday stores, healthcare, and dining just a ten-minute drive down the road.
