About Dunmor

Dunmor is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Muhlenberg and Logan counties, Kentucky, United States. The 2020 census counted 322 residents. A post office was established in the community in 1884. The name "Dunmor" may have come from either colonial politician Lord Dunmore, or the local Dunn family. The short version is that Dunmor carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Dunmor: its past remains attached to the places people use now. Dunmor is located in southern Muhlenberg County, with a portion extending south into Logan County. U.S. Route 431 passes through the community, leading north 18 miles to Central City and south the same distance to Russellville.
