Dyckesville, WI

Dyckesville is an unincorporated census-designated place split between Brown and Kewaunee counties, in the towns of Green Bay and Red River. The 2020 census counted 490 residents. It sits in the Green Bay metropolitan area, where farm roads, scattered homes, and the Wisconsin 57 corridor meet the lakeshore country. A Wisconsin 57 park-and-ride sits near County DK and the Bay Shore County Park bike trail, giving the highway a practical local role.

The place was founded around 1860 by Louis Van Dycke, whose name became Dyckesville. Highway 57 passed through the community until a bypass opened in 2006, shifting through traffic away from the old center while leaving the original road network in place. Brown County planning documents identify Dyckesville as an unincorporated service area, and the nearby bay-side park and trail add another local reference point. Dyckesville’s identity comes from border-county administration, old highway alignment, farm country, and routes toward Green Bay, all in a narrow strip between the two counties.
