About Dyess

Dyess is a historic town in Mississippi County, Arkansas, situated nineteen miles southwest of Osceola. Established in 1934 as the Dyess Colony by the Federal Emergency Relief Administration, it was the largest agrarian community created by the federal government under the New Deal. The town has a population of about three hundred and forty residents, and public education is provided by the Rivercrest School District.
