Eastvale, CA

Eastvale is one of the Inland Empire's newest cities, having incorporated in 2010 after transforming from quiet dairy land into a master-planned suburban community. Tucked along the Santa Ana River just west of Interstate 15, the city is filled with newer subdivisions, wide parkways, and spacious family homes. Limonite and Hamner avenues serve as the main crossroads where you will find everyday grocery stores, dining, and the Eastvale Gateway shopping center. For outdoor recreation, the Eastvale Trail winds along the river's edge, giving walkers, runners, and cyclists a scenic paved route with views of the surrounding mountains.

Daily shopping and errands revolve around the retail centers near Interstate 15 and along the main avenues. Logistics hubs and corporate offices near the freeway provide a significant local job base, though many residents make the daily commute into Orange County, Los Angeles, or nearby Ontario. Because Eastvale developed so rapidly over the last two decades, it grew without a traditional historic downtown. That is currently changing with Eastvale Square, a large mixed-use development on the former Leal dairy property designed to bring walkable retail, restaurants, a new library, and community gathering plazas to the center of town.

Although Eastvale is young as an official municipality, its name dates back to an 1890s rural school district. For most of the twentieth century, the region was an agricultural haven, home to Dutch and Portuguese dairy families who relocated their herds as coastal Southern California expanded. Up until the early 2000s, cows still outnumbered residents. As developers built out the flat valley floor, newcomers arrived quickly, drawn by larger houses and newer neighborhoods at lower prices than neighboring counties. That rapid population surge led local leaders to organize and successfully vote for official cityhood in 2010.

Parks and youth sports play a huge role in the community. Eastvale Community Park serves as the weekend hub for soccer and baseball leagues, while the local community center on Schleisman Road offers indoor sports courts, fitness programs, and activity spaces. The city also hosts several popular community events throughout the year, including a Lunar New Year Lantern Festival, an International Food Festival, summer movie nights, and a Diwali celebration. Even with its modern suburban footprint, Eastvale maintains ties to its past through an annual fall festival that celebrates the area's farming heritage.
