About Eaton Estates
Eaton Estates is an unincorporated census-designated place in central Eaton Township, on the eastern side of Lorain County. State Route 82 forms part of the northern edge and State Route 83 runs along the west, with Grafton south, North Eaton east, and the hamlet of Eaton northwest. Elyria, the county seat, is about seven miles away; Cleveland is roughly twenty-six miles northeast.
The useful local map is made of roads and drainage. SR 82 runs east toward Strongsville and west toward Brentwood Lake, while SR 83 points north toward North Ridgeville and south toward Litchfield. Willow Creek drains the area toward the Black River, which continues north to Lake Erie. That water path gives Eaton Estates a physical connection to the larger Lorain County landscape, even though the place itself has no incorporated downtown. Picture it as a small residential community at the meeting of Eaton Township roads, with the Cleveland suburbs on one side and the Black River basin on the other.
