Echo Hills, CO

Echo Hills is a Clear Creek County census-designated place and unincorporated community west of Evergreen, at about 9,300 feet in the foothills. The 2020 census counted 313 residents. Evergreen’s post office serves the area, and county roads connect the subdivision to Highway 103 and the larger Denver mountain corridor. The local map is steep, wooded, and road-dependent, with homes spread along a small set of access streets. The road network is part of the place’s identity, since every trip starts on the mountain access road.

Echo Hills’ day-to-day story is infrastructure and terrain. A Clear Creek County wildfire mitigation project described the area as a remote subdivision reached by one paved road from County Road 103, with many dead-end streets and forest fuels around homes. That landscape makes county emergency planning, road access, and the Evergreen postal connection part of ordinary local geography. Echo Hills is folded into Denver metropolitan statistics, but its immediate life is high-elevation housing on the county’s mountain side.
