Eden Roc, HI

Eden Roc is a Hawaii County census-designated place in the Puna District, a subdivision community on the upper slopes of Hawaii's volcanic country. It sits about three miles south of Highway 11, between Fern Acres, Mountain View, and Fern Forest; Hilo lies about 16 miles north, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park about 13 miles southwest. Upper Puna's roads do a lot of work in the local story. Eden Roc is linked to the wider network through South Oshiro Road and other subdivision roads, and county planning has repeatedly treated connections between Eden Roc, Fern Forest, Fern Acres, and Highway 11 as an emergency and everyday access issue. The community has a small park and volunteer fire-truck setup through the Eden Roc Estates association. Eden Roc is not a conventional town with a main street; it is a highland residential community shaped by volcanic ground, long roads, rain, and the practical question of how Upper Puna neighborhoods connect.
