Eden, WI

Eden is a Fond du Lac County village located within the Town of Eden, so the same name covers an incorporated village and a larger rural township. A post office called Eden was established in 1850, and local accounts connect the name either to the Garden of Eden or to John Eden, an early settler. The village's streets sit among Wisconsin farm roads, with Fond du Lac providing the larger county services and employment orbit. Eden Community Center and the municipal office give the village a practical civic address.

Eden's calendar is unusually easy to spot. Village-wide rummage sales arrive in April, the Eden Firemen's Association picnic brings a fish fry, band, and Sunday parade in summer, and an annual 9/11 charity ride gathers at the firehouse. Those events sit alongside street maintenance, snow clearing, permits, and the ordinary work of a village government. The village and town divide responsibilities by boundary, but residents share one local name and many of the same roads.
