Edgewood, IN

Tucked into the west side of Anderson in Madison County, Edgewood is a quiet, leafy enclave of around 2,000 residents. General Motors originally developed the neighborhood in 1916 for automotive workers, and it has maintained its peaceful, close-knit residential feel for over a century. State Road 32 runs right through town, giving commuters a direct route west toward Noblesville and the northern Indianapolis suburbs, while Anderson’s shopping and dining sit just minutes away. Families in town are served by the Anderson Community School Corporation, with local teenagers attending Anderson High School.

One of the biggest draws for newcomers is the town’s collection of neighborhood parks. Edgewood Park serves as the community’s main recreation hub, featuring tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and a wooded arboretum. Several smaller pocket parks are scattered within easy walking distance of most homes, including Gunter, Woods, and Windsor Park, which is famous locally for its turtle-shaped playground equipment known as Turtle Park. With its own town council and local services, Edgewood gives residents a traditional small-town atmosphere while keeping everyday conveniences right at their doorstep.
