About Ehrenfeld
Ehrenfeld is a borough in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. The 2020 census counted 203 residents. Ehrenfeld is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ehrenfeld once was nicknamed "Scooptown". The short version is that Ehrenfeld carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Ehrenfeld: its past remains attached to the places people use now. There is also Ehrenfeld and Neuehrenfeld a district of Cologne, Germany. In 1901, General Electric Company built the first alternating current power plant at Ehrenfeld. The plant, designed to eliminate the difficulties in long-distance direct current transmission, was built for the Webster Coal and Coke Company.
