About Elk Mountain

Elk Mountain is a town in Carbon County, Wyoming, United States. The 2020 census counted 150 residents. The town takes its name from the mountain 7 miles to its southwest. Elk Mountain was a resting spot, the Elk Mountain Station, for early American pioneers in wagon trains heading west on the Overland Trail.
