Elkhart, IN

Elkhart is a northern Indiana city at the meeting of the St. Joseph and Elkhart rivers, long shaped by water, transportation, and manufacturing. The Village of Pulaski was established in 1829 on the north side of the St. Joseph River, and early industrial growth included a hydraulic dam across the river. Elkhart is widely known for recreational vehicle manufacturing, but it also has a strong cultural tradition in events such as the Elkhart Jazz Festival, held in late June along the Elkhart River.
