Elkins is a city in Washington County, Arkansas, situated southeast of Fayetteville on the west bank of the White River. Positioned in the Boston Mountains area of the Ozarks, this Northwest Arkansas community was incorporated in 1964 by combining the settlements of Harris and Hood. Today the growing residential suburb is served by the Elkins School District, which operates Elkins High School, offering a residential community feel near Fayetteville.
