About Ellinger

Ellinger is a quiet, friendly crossroads community in Fayette County, situated along Highway 71 roughly halfway between Austin and Houston. With around 250 residents, it offers a relaxed, rural lifestyle surrounded by open pastures and rolling Central Texas countryside. The area was originally settled in the mid-nineteenth century by European immigrants, starting out as Live Oak Hill before shifting over to meet the incoming railroad tracks and adopting a simplified spelling of its founder's name.
