Elmendorf, TX

Elmendorf is a city in southeastern Bexar County that reaches into Wilson County, about 17 miles southeast of downtown San Antonio. The 2020 census counted 1,862 residents. The place grew around FM 327 and the Southern Pacific Railroad, giving Elmendorf a corridor identity that predates its place in the San Antonio-New Braunfels metro. The two-county boundary is part of the practical map: most services and school connections run through Bexar County, while a small southeastern section crosses into Wilson County.
