Elmo, UT

Located in Emery County just south of Price, Elmo is a quiet farming town surrounded by wide-open pastures and big desert skies. Local tradition says the town took its name from the first letters of its founding families: Erickson, Larsen, Mortensen, and Oviatt. Family farms and green fields still define the area today, giving Elmo a peaceful, rural feel where life moves at a comfortable, unhurried pace.

The community has a long history of making things work on its own terms, starting back when early settlers sawed an old schoolhouse in half and hauled it into town by horse team. Modern life here is simple and neighborly, with local staples like the town hall, library, post office, and a central park. Students head to nearby Cleveland Elementary and Emery County schools, while major grocery runs, restaurants, and regional jobs are only about fifteen miles north in Price.
